The position is available from the Fall of 2016. ------ Subject: Postdoc Positions, Mathematics, Imperial College London From: Colin Cotter Date: March 15, 2016 Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available at the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College London. We have recently secured funding from EPSRC to develop our capability in stochastic geophysical fluid dynamics. In a recent paper, http://rspa.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/royprsa/471/2176/20140963.full.pdf the PI, Prof Darryl Holm, presented a general approach to including stochastic parameterisations of subgrid motions in geophysical fluid dynamics PDEs that are used to model the atmosphere and ocean. In this project with co-Is Prof Dan Crisan and Dr Colin Cotter, we shall investigate the properties of these models, their numerical discretisations, and their incorporation into data assimilation/stochastic filtering problems. One PDRA will focus on numerical analysis and scientific computing: http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/ANF380/research-associate-position/ whilst the other will focus on data assimilation and stochastic filtering: http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/ANF364/research-associate/ Please see these adverts for job specifications. Interested NA Digest readers are welcome to contact Colin Cotter (colin.cotter@imperial.ac.uk) for more information regarding this project and these positions. Closing date for applications for both positions is 11th April 2016. We aim to start both positions before 1st July 2016. ------ Subject: Contents, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series A 36:7 From: Susan Cummins Date: Fri, 25 Mar 2016 12:00:36 -0500 Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series A (DCDS-A) Volume: 36, Number: 7 July 2016 http://aimsciences.org/journals/contentsListnew.jsp?pubID=847 1.
